Morgan increasing productivity with new manufacturing investment

Sensor Group ShotMorgan Advanced Materials, a market leader in the design and manufacture of ultrasonic sensors, has made a major investment in a new dedicated assembly cell at its manufacturing facility in Southampton, UK to further increase production of flow sensor assemblies for use in heat, gas and water metering applications.

The new investment follows significantly increased global customer demand for state-of-the-art residential metering products. It is a reflection of Morgan’s commitment to continued investment in its technical ceramics sites, and the UK manufacturing sector. Offering increased production capacity and improved product consistency capable of supplying to customers all around the world.

In a market that demands the highest level of accuracy when measuring usage of gas and water, Morgan’s ultrasonic sensors are rapidly replacing mechanical meters. The company’s range of high-sensitivity and high temperature stability ultrasonic flow sensors, utilising Morgan’s PZT materials, deliver premium performance for ultrasonic flow measurement. Morgan is also able to customise sensors, offering the capability to produce unique products for individual customers to provide distinctive advantages in the market place. Furthermore, Morgan Advanced Materials is also able to provide custom PZT shapes and bespoke sub-assembly solutions for a variety of metering applications.

The investment allows specialist engineers in the business to accommodate a range of requirements, adapting the architecture and manufacturing process to meet customers’ individual needs.
